Vehicles in Germany's City Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Authorities stated they were notified by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located numerous other smeared cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report preliminary tests suggest the substance was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any physical harm in association with the incident," they added.

City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.

A high-ranking official stated the attack rendered him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
